Allison Jane Wood

Our 5th grandbaby was born on January 15th. We
now have 2 granddaughters and 3 grandsons. Baby Alli
is so cute with chubby cheeks. As a grandpa, I have already
thought of some nick names for Allison. I know the parents
will not approve of my nick names but as a grandpa, I have
the right. It will be wonderful to see how this little girl
develops and as we get to know her personality perhaps
I will call her Alli Jane, AJ, Al, or maybee just Allison.

Home for the Holidays 2008

We had a wonderful Christmas season this year. We had

ALL our kids and grandkids together again.

It was a rare chance to get a photo of everyone.

We had a lot of snow on Christmas day as well as wind,

a power outage Christmas morning,

a broken Silvarado transmission,

and sore muscles from snow removal.

But we are truly greatful for our

family and all of our blessings that have

come our way this past year.

Remembering Rexburg

Megan decided she wanted to check out BYU-Idaho to see if she wanted to go to college there next year so we planned and overnight trip over Thanksgiving holiday. What a fun trip it was.

For those of you who don't know, Ricks College and Rexburg is where Robyn and Gary first met and the begining of the Wood family, so this trip was VERY SPECIAL.

As we drove from Idaho Falls the last 25 miles of the trip, we saw signs that read "BYU-Idaho" instead of "Ricks College". Wow, that seemed odd to me since this was the first time we have been to Rexburg since the college was changed to BYU-I. As we approached the city of Rexburg, we saw the familiar landscape with the Rexburg hill, but this time a new land mark was on the hill side - the new Rexburg Temple.

Megan was really excited to see the temple and be on campus. Since it was Thanksgiving holiday, nothing was opened, so we walked around the campus. Then we went out and took some pictures of familiar places. For Robyn and I it was very exciting, but for Megan she just giggled and made fun of us.

We visited my old apartment. Back then, we didn't spend too much time there because we were always at the library or playing raquetball or hanging out at Robyn's apartment #18 Sunrise Village.

This is #18 Sunrise Village. Back in 1980 it was women housing, but now it is mens housing. After spending hours together at the library where we were studying (hehe), the library would close and we would go back to Robyn's apartment until I would be escorted off the property by Raouel- security guard for Sunrise.

This is the location of our first home. It was a trailor park and our trailor was right where the front of the new housing complex for young women is located.

We were in Rexburg in April 1996. Henry and Becky and their kids Brian, Joelle and David and Robyn and I with Missy, Nathan, Mallory and Megan all went to Rexburg to see Henry get inducted into the Ricks College Hall of Fame. Henry and Becky also met at Ricks so for both families it is a very special place.

A tribute to Uncle Bill

Uncle Bill was like a father to me. He was true and loyal to his sister Jaylene, my mom, in helping her raise her young son as a single mom. He ordained me to the Aaronic Priesthood and Melchizedek Priesthood as an Elder and High Priest. I have passed that ordination to my son as he will to his son. What a great heritage we have as member of the Price family. He was always kind to me and the only one time I remember that he got mad at me was when we were in Grandma Jonsie's back yard and he was teaching me to swing a golf club. Well I didn't listen to him and swung the club and smacked him up the side of his head and almost knocked him out. Maybe that is why to this day I still don't like to golf. But his injuries healed and he showed even increased love for me. He also loved my younger sister Marie and brother Billy and my brother Cory. Billy went fishing with him many times and has a lot of memories with Uncle Bill. My memories usually involve camping and scout camp. It was fun working up at East Fork scout camp with him in the summer. He loved his children and his wife and was an example to me on how to love and raise a family. But his love extended past his own children and to his nieces and nephews as well. Thank you Uncle Bill for helping shape me into the man I am today. Love Gary

Welcome to the Wood family blog

This blog is for the kids, grandkids, family and friends of Robyn and Gary Wood to enjoy and keep up with the happenings at the Wood house. This picture was taken last Summer in Nauvoo on the steps of the Nauvoo Temple. The trip we took was one of the rare occasions we had all the kids and grandkids together in one place. I will post some more pictures of our exciting adventure soon, as well as a look at mom's new kitchen and our new patio cover.
